  About the north yp network

Mission : The north yp network is a quality group of diverse young professionals working together to build relationships, develop professionally and become philanthropically active.”

Definition:  Quality – Our group is of substance and involves intelligent young professionals.  This is not a social drinking club.  Diverse – Our group is diverse.  We are diverse in our education, profession, knowledge, and opinions.  We encourage people of all walks of life to participate in the group.  Young Professionals – The target group of adults for this group are between the ages of 21-35; however anyone may attend the events.  These young people should be in the early stages of their career path & we welcome people of all professions.

The north yp network exists for three reasons:

1. Build Relationships: Each month, north yp will have one fun/informal event that is designed to help young professionals meet and build relationship with one another.  This may include featured speakers & will incorporate unique venues throughout the metro area.  Possible events may include: speed networking, kickball tournament, bowling, laser tag, progressive dinner, Saints/Timberwolves/Twins/Wild/Swarm games, Riverboat Cruise, brewery tour, Movie Night, Holiday Light Tour, etc.

2. Develop Professionally: Each month, north yp network will have one event that is designed to provide educational, professional, and entrepreneurial development.  Topics will focus on leadership, effective networking, presentation skills, and becoming a future leader.  Possible events may include: dinner etiquette, nonprofit/volunteer opportunities, political figure speakers, speed mentoring, entrepreneur speakers, financial planning, MBA/further education speakers, proper networking tips, cultural events, city liaison talks, sales calling tips/speakers, managing career & personal life, meet regional business leader, speech giving tips, etc.

3. Become philanthropically active: Quarterly north yp network will organize a volunteer/community outreach service project.  These events will help cultivate the well rounded future leaders the business community is looking for.  They will also help young professionals contribute to and enrich the communities in which we live, work, and play.
